I first want to express my gratitude to all of you who have stopped by in this first month of live posting, and sent in comments, text messages, emails, social media posts, and so on. I sincerely hope that you have found some inspiration in the things that I have shared, and I look forward to nurturing the community that is building. Your support has been all that I hoped for, and beyond. So THANK YOU!
Looking ahead, I will continue with Daily Dose: Inspired, from Monday–Friday.
Many days will be more simple than the articles from this month, as I share something small that has inspired me, or that a guest has sent in. I’ll still get into some in-depth thoughts such as those posts on Creativity and Affirmations about once a week or so, but I’ll also offer up quick pick-me-ups that can be consumed in mere minutes.
I’ve also mentioned Awesome Sauce, in which I’ll share features on creators—individuals and organizations—making the mark and building a better world. Those’ll start to roll in 2-4 times per month, and be served up as Q&A, guests posts, and journalistic feature stories. I’m looking forward to spotlighting incredible people!
And finally, around mid-May, I’ll be adding something I’m REALLY EXCITED about: the weekly creativity challenge. This will be an opportunity for you to make something, based on a prompt I share. The idea is to create something every week, but of course as the archives grow, you’ll have a chance to pick and choose an activity that calls to you.
Here’s my little blurb about it:
Want a way to exercise your creativity, on your terms, each and every week? The Weekly Creativity Challenge is a great way to make the time and space to get creative, in a supportive community of makers, dreamers and doers.
What do I mean by “on your terms”? I’m going to do my best to put together exercises that can be interpreted according to your preferred method of creative expression. While there may occasionally be specific instructions, as in the Doodle post I offered earlier this month, most of the exercises will be open to any sort of interpretation, from drawing to painting to collage to writing to music to performance art to more non-traditional ideas of creativity such as entrepreneurship, problem solving, or idea generation.
That way we can learn from each other and increase our exposure to different forms of creativity.
But, before we get started, I wanted to poll you to get a feel for what might work for you, in terms of incorporating a challenge into your life, and the level of interactivity and community (if any) that you’d be interested in.
I’m testing a couple polling plugins right now, and I’ll post one shortly, and link to it here. I hope you’ll stop by to share your opinion.
Thanks so much! 🙂
ABOUT A TO Z CHALLENGE
This month, I am writing 26 posts starting with the letters A through Z, along with hundreds of other businesses and bloggers from around the world. I first ran into the A to Z Challenge many, many moons ago (circa 2011), when I was brand new to the online writing world. It was a great way to jumpstart my creative juices, and I had so much fun “meeting” men and women sharing what they love to do. So I knew that when I was ready to launch Of Love + Light, the A to Z Challenge would be the perfect way to make it happen!

“Weekly Creativity Challenge: Coming Soon” was posted as part of the Daily Dose: Inspired series, to gather feedback and get ready for a new weekly series.
